'The Twister' is a neck-jarring, spine-torturing submission hold refined and mastered by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu superstar Eddie Bravo.
Early in his jiu-jitsu career, Eddie Bravo dominated dozens of jiu-jitsu competitions with this unorthodox move. When the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation banned his trademark move, he proved the effectiveness of his entire grappling style by def...more

Bottom line - Mastering the Twister by Eddie Bravo is in the top 3 of my favorite bjj books. I can't decide if it is #2 or #3, it's a toss-up. Any guesses as to what #1 may be, lol?
I first read Mastering the Twister like 2-3 years ago probably. I hate to say it but it didn't make much of an impact on me at the time. I was still a blue belt in bjj with a ton of wrestling experience but I think I was spreading myself too thin in terms of trying to learn as many bjj techniques as possible. You know...more

I recently reviewed Eddie Bravo's first Victory Belt book, Mastering the Rubber Guard, and Mastering the Twister is certainly a worthy successor.
Where the first book focuses on Bravo's innovative approach to the guard game, the sequel covers his top game -- the mount, side control, the sprawl, back control, and a unique position Bravo calls the truck.

Eddie Bravo does it again with this book. An amazingly detailed and useful resource. The mount and back techniques are especially excellent. My only complaint is that there should have been a guard passing section. Combined with Mastering the Rubber Guard, Bravo gives no guard passing or takedown techniques, unless one goes back to JiuJitsu Unleashed. Maybe he'll produce a smaller text combining these two missing aspects.
Twistering and banana splitting fools everyday! haha..
Twister is a good set up, but don't rely on it solely. Don't be a one trick pony.
